Hualuo Xiangyunsha is a luxurious silk fabric made from 100% mulberry silk.

After being meticulously woven using traditional three-warp and four-warp gauze weaving techniques, each piece is hand-finished using the Xiangyunsha (gambiered Canton gauze) dyeing technique, which is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The complex weaving process requires a long time and skilled craftsmanship, and a beautiful openwork pattern is woven into every meter of fabric.

What is Xiangyunsha?

Xiangyunsha (gambiered Canton gauze) is a traditional silk textile from Shunde, Guangdong Province, China, and also refers to the traditional natural dyeing techniques passed down through the ages.

In the past, the dominant method was to dye hand-woven silk fabric with natural dyes, but today, "Xiangyunsha" is also used to refer to the traditional dyeing technique itself.

As a result, Xiangyunsha dyeing is now applied not only to silk but also to materials such as cotton and linen.

Traditional Xiangyunsha is made by repeatedly impregnating 100% mulberry silk fabric with the natural sap of the "Dioscorea cirrhosa" plant, which grows wild in Guangdong, and then sun-drying it multiple times until complete.

This method, which combines the blessings of nature with the skill of artisans, creates a fabric with a unique texture and beautiful luster.

Care Instructions

Hualuo Xiangyunsha is a natural material made from 100% mulberry silk. To enjoy its beautiful texture for a long time, we recommend the following care:

• Hand washing or silk-friendly dry cleaning is recommended.
• If washing at home, use a neutral detergent and gently hand wash in water below 30°C.
• Avoid using bleach, fluorescent brighteners, and fabric softeners.
• Do not rub vigorously or wring.
• After washing, reshape and dry naturally in a well-ventilated shade.
• Prolonged drying in direct sunlight may cause discoloration.
• Iron at a low temperature (silk setting) with a pressing cloth, from the reverse side.
• When storing, avoid humidity and store in a well-ventilated place.

Tip

Xiangyunsha is a traditional material dyed with natural dyes, so its texture will gradually change with wear and washing. Please enjoy this aging process as a unique charm of natural materials.
