Xiangyunsha: A Thousand Years of Tradition

Xiangyunsha is a traditional silk fabric with a long history, originating in Shunde, Guangdong Province, China.
It is produced using a rare dyeing technique recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage and is known as "black gold of silk."

Xiangyunsha is made from 100% silk (mulberry silk). It is meticulously crafted using traditional methods, involving repeated dyeing with plant-derived dioscorea liquid, followed by the application of natural river mud and repeated sun-drying.

One-of-a-Kind Texture

Because it is created through the craftsmanship of artisans and the forces of nature—sun, wind, water, and earth—no two pieces of fabric will have the exact same pattern or color.

It features an elegant sheen, rich colors with depth, and a combination of suppleness and just the right amount of crispness. Its smooth texture prevents stuffiness, making it comfortable even in hot weather.

A unique charm of Xiangyunsha is that its color gradually changes with wear and washing, developing a beautiful character over time.

Care Instructions

Xiangyunsha is a delicate material with natural dyes. To enjoy its beautiful texture for a long time, we recommend the following care:

• Avoid using washing machines and tumble dryers.
• Gently hand wash in cold water (below 30℃) using a neutral detergent.
• Do not rub vigorously or wring.
• Shape flat and air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
• Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading.
• Avoid direct contact with perfumes, deodorizing sprays, and insect repellents.
• Store in a dry place, separating dark and light colors.

*Due to the nature of natural materials and traditional dyeing, there are individual differences in color unevenness, texture, delicate wrinkles (crack patterns) like cracks, and color changes over time. Please enjoy these as unique expressions of each Xiangyunsha piece.
