Xiangyunsha: Silk Breathing a Thousand Years of Tradition

Xiangyunsha is a traditional silk fabric that has been handed down for centuries in Shunde, Guangdong Province, China.
It is produced using a rare dyeing technique recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, and is known as the "black gold of silk."

Xiangyunsha uses 100% silk (mulberry silk). It is meticulously crafted using a traditional method of repeatedly dyeing the fabric with plant-derived yam (shoryo) dye and then applying natural river mud before sun-drying.

A Unique Texture Unlike Any Other

Because it is created by the hands of artisans and the power of nature—the sun, wind, water, and earth—no two pieces of fabric will ever have the exact same pattern or color.

It possesses an elegant sheen, rich depth of color, and a combination of suppleness and just the right amount of crispness. Its smooth texture prevents stuffiness, making it comfortable to wear even in warm weather.

Another unique charm of Xiangyunsha is that its color gradually changes with wear and washing, developing beautifully over time.

Xiangyunsha is a delicate material with natural dyes. To enjoy its beautiful texture for a long time, we recommend the following care:

• Gently hand wash in cold water (below 30℃) with a neutral detergent.
• Do not rub vigorously or wring.
• Reshape flat and air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
• Prolonged direct sunlight can cause fading.
• Avoid direct contact with perfumes, deodorizing sprays, and insect repellents.
• When storing, avoid humidity and separate dark and light colors.
